Esther 4.14 – October 1, 2020

Esther 4.14

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”  (Esther 4.14, NIV)

“Esther truly saved the Jewish nation because of her courage.”

Thought Questions:

Why is it easier for us to remain silent, rather than speak up in the face of adversity?

What can we do to give ourselves more strength to speak up?

Describe a time when you felt as if you were at just the right place at just the right time to help someone in the name of the Lord? In what ways did you feel God at work in that moment?

Esther 4.14 – April 7, 2020

Esther 4:14

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14, NIV)

The Esther story is a great example of the ways God can put people in the places he needs them most so they can help others “at such a time as this.”

Thought Questions:

As you read through the entire Esther story, what twists and turns make you think: Only God could be working in this situation?

While God will not fail even if you do not follow him, how does it make you feel to know that he can put you in a place where your actions are important to accomplish those things he is doing?

What ways have you had the sense that you or someone else you know were at just the right place at the right time? How did you/they allow God to be seen in those moments?
